A meal at Les Halles is a great way to check out the ambiance in Zurich West, the hip former Industrial Quarter. Excellent for people watching, it's a good introduction to how Zurich can shake off its banking identity and put on its hipster hat. The kitchen offers daily specials as well as some Gallic delights like salade au chevre chaud (hot goat cheese salad) and moules frites (mussels and French fries). The decor features a mish-mash of different chairs and tables while a Virgin Mary adorns the bar.
