Home to the Zurich Ballet, the Zurich Opera, and the Zurich Orchestra, the Zurich Opera House (Opernhaus) has been the city's center for high musical culture for the past 175 years. The theater has the seating capacity for 1,100 spectators and is also Zurich's largest employer for the arts. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone, or from the theater's ticket counter. Opera performances are usually subtitled in German even for German-language productions for better audience comprehension. Guided tours of the Opera House are also available for free.
