Bring a container to take leftovers home for a delicious midnight snack.
Description:
On the corner of the popular "Corridor Gastronomica" Calle Adelita and Nuestra SeƱora de los Remedios, sits an unassuming outdoor restaurant furnished by bamboo tables & chairs made at the shop next door. Appearances can be deceiving, though, as this simple space houses two restaurants and a cooking school. Taking the morning shift, Patio Mexica serves traditional Mexican breakfast food while at night, Rufo's Grill takes over with hamburgers, steaks and fish all cooked on a wood burning grill along side delicious sauces, beans and grilled vegetables.
After being asked so often for her culinary secrets, Monica Duran Perez, decided to share the joy of Mexican cooking by adding classes twice a week. Students are given vocabulary lessons to prep them for a trip to the local
mercado. Once the shopping is done, Monica customizes her class to student interest and shares her recipes for salsas, chile rellenos, grilled fish with all the trimmings, enchiladas or even a complete "tour" of Mexican egg dishes. Class sizes are limited to 6 so there is plenty of time for questions and plenty of food for seconds!
