Description:
Mexico is well celebrated for its passionate use of vibrant colors. Houses are painted hot pink, mercados are filled with purple and green piƱatas alongside richly hued produce and flowers and clothes are a kaleidoscopic journey. Fruity Keiko is a shop that celebrates all that is colorful about Mexico. The handmade jewelry, bags, clothes and art are all colors of the rainbow and are all marvelously Mexican in design.
Fruity Keiko originally opened as a gallery at Hacienda Eden in Troncones but its popularity inspired an expansion to Zihuatanejo Centro. The shop features original jewelry by local artists as well as famous national designers including Virgins Saints and Angels, Gabriela Sanchez and Daniel Espinosa. An entire wall is dedicated to their collection of bright floral oilcloth bags that are practical, waterproof and a great way to take home a bit of Mexican kitsch. Delicate linen tunics hang alongside fun lucha libre (wrestling) masks while blown glass hearts, ironwork and one-of-a-kind mirrors fight for space on the walls.
With such a broad range of merchandise, from cute trinkets to exquisite jewelry made from precious stones, there is a souvenir for every budget. Credit cards are accepted and careful bubblewrapped packaging available to ensure safe travels for delicate items.
