Arte Mexicano Nopal offers an eclectic collection of Mexican craftmanship and tradition. Some of the simpler items for sale -- maracas, placemats and ceramics -- can be purchased for less (and sometimes in greater variety) across the street at the Artisan's Market. However, there are many other pieces whose unique and/or high quality make Arte Mexicano Nopal an important stop on the souvenir hunt. Of special note is a substantial collection of Frida Kahlo tributes and reproductions that ranges from postcards to 3-dimensional lightboxes to large scale antiqued prints. Their mirrors and crosses are all one-of-a-kind as are the delicate Day of the Dead Katrina sculptures. When you're exploring the crowded shop, make sure to look in all directions. Metalwork, floating angels and lighting fixtures hang from the ceiling while handmade jewelry and historical postcards are tucked into corners.Hours: Monday - Saturday, 10am - 9pm
