Tango! is a relatively new addition to the Zihuatanejo restaurant scene but it has already upgraded its home from a small bistro in Centro a large 3 level open air space overlooking the bay.  This recent move empowered Chef and Owner Monk to broaden his popular tapas menu and to create a lounge space on the lower level that seems custom made for tapas grazing, cocktails and enjoying live music as well as the fresh ocean breezes coming up the hill.  Priced at $3-5USD, you can sample, share and savor the range of flavors that Tango! has to offer.  Classic Mexican street food fare such as empanaditas and tiritas are given fresh twists with new ingredients and gourmet presentation.  Rounding out the menu, time-honored tapas dishes like hot wings and bruschetta are infused with México's smoky chiles and tropical fruits.

Upstairs in the dining room, a full menu is available with appetizers, salads and hearty main course dishes.  Again, the focus is on traditional Mexican recipes that have been elevated to fine dining cuisine through modern preparation techniques and international cuisine influences.  The fish specials reflect the abundance of fresh local seafood.  The wine list is not extensive but has been specifically culled to pair with Tango's menu.  In addition to being one of the most attentive and genial staffs in Zihuatanejo, the staff can also make knowledgeable wine pairing recommendations.  

The upper dining level is the spot to watch the sun set over the bay while having cocktails.  The design is a comfortable space with a beautiful bilingual poem hand-painted on the wall, rustic wooden furniture and blue Mexican "bubble glass" dishes.  While the open air design makes the entire restaurant feel expansive, the detailed service, unique details and exceptional food will create an intimate dining experience.
