Puerta del Sol is an unassuming restaurant located on the road to Playa la Ropa. It's view of Zihuatanejo Bay is partially obstructed by a small condominium development in front but there is still a warm glow and plenty of sunset action when dusk comes. The staff is playful which complements the fruity menu of daiquiris and margaritas as well as the citrus ceviche which is served in a coconut complete with cucumber eyes and avocado moustache.Several of the specialties on the menu are prepared tableside to add to the festive atmosphere. This includes a cesear salad, chicken with tequila cream sauce, bananas flambé and Mexican dessert coffees. The prices are midrange and fit well with the relaxed atmosphere. There are certainly better views and more romantic spots along the beach but for a good time, especially in groups, Puerta del Sol is a great choice.
