Description:
The official name of this seafood restaurant is "Marisqueria Ola Salvaje" but it is widely known and beloved as "Lety's" to returning tourists and locals. General consensus is that the coconut shrimp stuffed with cream cheese is the best in town but many other menu items are just as delicious and all worth the trek from downtown. Lety's is located in Colonia la Noria, a short walk from Centro over the footbridge off the pier and can be pointed out by just about anyone in the area. The 2nd floor restaurant is plain but the food is fast becoming legend.
All of Lety's food is made from locally caught seafood. Try the
ceviche for a very authentic appetizer or light lunch that doesn't stray too far into the ketchup flavor that plagues many local restaurants. The
chile relleno stuffed with a combination of conch, shrimp and scallops and the grilled fresh catch of the day are also very popular. The beer is ice cold and cheap but for an extra refreshing treat, try Lety's cocktail of tequila, lime juice and grapefruit juice that is
muy tropical and only 40 pesos.
