La Hija del Capitan -- The Captain's Daughter -- is run by Tanya and Kenny Jones, a brother-sister team who also own La Playa Bar downstairs as well as The Fishing Hole, a corner bar just a few doors down. This miniature empire is a center of night life for many locals and The Captain's Daughter provides the fuel for a long night out with an indulgent menu of "pub grub."Although there are a few quite satisfying entree salads on the menu, the real draw are the guilty pleasures such as thick juicy Angus burgers, bar-style appetizer plates of jalapeño poppers, onion rings and mozzarella sticks, as well as steaks and ribs.
