Don Memo's menu is fairly simple yet savory making it a weeknight casual comfort for many locals. It features fresh proteins paired with mushroom sauce, marinara or garlic with butter. Add in pasta (with more sauces), calzones that are bigger than the plate they are served on and the house salsa that magically tastes delicious with just about anything on the menu.At Don Memo's, the food is hearty and satisfying. The same could be said for the host, Don Memo himself, who is a mix of folksy self-deprecation and generosity. There isn't much splash at this restaurant with plastic tables and chairs but there is a distinct communal camradery, unlimited garlic bread and an addictive sangria española, a refreshing and sweet cocktail of red wine, vodka, grenandine, lime juice and club soda. Fancy linens can be overrated, hometown charm never is.
