Coconuts has been a centerpiece of Zihuatanejo history for over 150 years and as a centerpiece of Zihua social life for over 3 decades. Originally a weighing station for coconuts, the space has served as a field hospital, private hacienda compound and in 1979, was renovated and opened its current incarnation as a restaurant. The restaurant proudly embraces its place in local history with regular art exhibits, cultural events and fundraisers. The bar is a gathering spot for many locals and often the first stop for yearly vacationers checking back into town. In the garden, fairy lights set the mood while live local musicians up the romance to tropical heat standards.
