The staff is bilingual and very helpful with tips and assistance for making your vacation what you want it to be. It is a tranquil spot with well manicured lawns and several beautiful garden installations that would fit just as well into luxury resorts. Two pools with covered lounge areas are a lovely respite from the heat and a stark contrast to the busyness of Playa la Ropa that is just a block away.The rooms at Real de la Palma are spread out among the grounds with bungalows hidden among the garden. Among the 23 rooms, there are several configurations for different sized parties and needs. This includes suites with small kitchens, one and two bedroom bungalows, wheelchair access and private terraces. The rooms are sparsely furnished with built-in beds and fresh white linens but every option has air conditioning, cable television and hot water. High season rates range from $100-150 USD/night with extra discounts during the summer months and for longer stays. The weeks surrounding the Christmas and New Year holidays are more expensive.
Both the open-air business lounge and adjoining restaurant have wifi internet access. The restaurant offers room service as well as all day dine-in service that features regional Mexican specialties. They serve only 3 kinds of local fish -- tuna, dorado and red snapper -- each prepared as generations of Mexican families have done. On Sunday, consider staying in for a meal and try the special slow-cooked barbecued pork or aporradillo, a traditional and popular dish made with beef cecina, eggs and chiles.
