Right off Playa la Madera and just a few minutes walk from Playa la Ropa, Hotel Irma takes the prize for satisfying the real estate mantra of "location, location, location." With such easy access to two great swimmer's beaches, it's hard to imagine why you would need a pool onsite... that is until you see their two pools with panaromaic views of the Zihuatanejo Bay and downtown. In front is an infinity pool overlooking the bay that gives the feeling of floating out to sea. The other pool has a shallow end and broad stairs that makes it perfect for families with young children.Above the pool area is the Hotel Irma restaurant that has an above-average menu with Mexican breakfast and lunch staples. There isn't anything extraordinary about the food but it is good, has a few unique twists on Mexican classic dishes and the breakfast is usually included with the room rate. Make sure to ask what fresh juices are available -- the carrot-orange juice is a refreshing kick to jumpstart your day.
The rooms at Hotel Irma are standard hotel size, all with ample storage space and newer model split-level air conditioners. Those rooms that face the ocean have terraces, although some are not very private due to their proximity to the public areas. The staff is incredibly accommodating and if the 67-room hotel isn't fully booked, they will allow you to check out several rooms to pick your best option.
