Though far from hopping clubs, blocks of lively pubs or concert/show venues there's always some form of evening entertainment in or near Yosemite Village. Summertime has the most activity when visitors abound and the park staffs up to inform and entertain guests with the never-ending story of Yosemite. If you prefer solitude, there are easy places near the Village where you can get away solo and watch the waterfalls pour down as the stars spin overhead.
Because there isn't lodging right in Yosemite Village, once the early diners are done at The Loft or the Village Grill, things quiet down. The Yosemite Theater puts on top-notch nightly programs from May through September. A program with Lee Stetson is probably the closest you'll get to meeting John Muir. TV star, ranger Shelton Johnson brings you part of 'America's Best Idea', and star climber Ron Kauk will thrill with the discipline of ascending the Valley's big walls.
Ranger programs are an American tradition that you can enjoy at Lower Pines Campground and other places. Mainly during the summertime, DNC presents many programs at Curry Village and Yosemite Lodge, and the Sierra Club hosts a great series of presentations at LeConte Lodge.
More noctural wildlife is found at the Lodge's Mountain Room Bar where TV's will have sporting events showing. The same is the case at the Ahwahnee Lounge, in a quieter setting. Both places have pleasant outdoor seating so you can sip a beverage and drink in the scenery during mild evenings.
