NileGuide Expert tip:

It's worth it to get that cemetery guidebook.

Description:

Close to the Valley Visitor Center, the cemetery is well worth a stroll. Buy a guidebook at the bookstore and you'll learn a lot about the park's early settlers and Indians.  John Muir is not buried here but his boss is.  The first Euroamerican year-round pioneer is here, early park rangers, explorers and developers, too.  One of the smallest headstones is that of the first man up Half Dome.  One of the most important is that of Galen Clark, considered the first park ranger ever.  See if you can figure out how he wanted to be reincarnated.
