Owner Maria de Jesus Cabrera Dominguez lavishes the same attention to her family's restaurant that she gives their small hotel in Xpujil. Green and white tablecloths cover the tables in the restaurant at Hotel Calakmul, which seats about 75 people. Ceiling fans cool the air, which can get super-heated during Campeche's hot summers.Food is simple and tasty, focused on Mexican specialties like tacos and tostados and various preparations of beef, fish, and chicken, which come accompanied by rice, beans, and small salads. The restaurant is convenient, of course, for guests staying at Hotel Calakmul, but also for those staying at Hotel Mirador Maya, Hotel Victoria, or just passing through town on the way to such Mayan ruins as Xpujil, Chicanna, Becan, and Calakmul.
