Surrounded by lakes and shaded by a majestic oak tree canopy, Winter Park oozes romance. Its brick-lined streets are perfect for afternoon strolls, its park areas are meticulously manicured, and plethora of cultural activities making connecting with someone special easy and well as inspiring. Start by shopping on Park Avenue, even if that simply means gazing in the boutique windows and stopping at quaint cafes for lattes and croissants. While you're in the area, be sure to check out the Morse Museum, which houses the largest collection of Tiffany glass in the world. Then wander east on Morse Blvd until it ends at the lake. Here's where you'll hop on board the Scenic Lake Tour. This one-hour journey through the Winter Park Chain of Lakes is a blissful way to learn about the area. The boat passes by some significant Winter Park landmarks including Rollins College, the state's oldest college and another great place to explore by foot. You'll also float past the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens. After your boat tour, be sure to drive over to this museum for a closer look. There's a small interior art museum but the site's best feature is its lakefront sculpture garden, the ideal spot for an outdoor picnic. Museum staff are perfectly fine with picnickers bringing provisions on property as long as they take all their litter with them. A great place to fill your picnic basket is at the Winter Park Farmer's Market which is open each Saturday morning until 2pm. Here you'll find fresh fruits and vegetables as well as bagels, baked goods, cheeses, frozen lemonade, kettle corn, veggie chips, and lots of other delightful snacks.
