Five Star Restaurants in Winter Park

Winter Park as a region is five star so it's not surprising that so many of Central Florida's best restaurants have chosen to make their home there. On Park Avenue, there are more than a dozen chic eateries, all boasting local celebrity chefs, outdoor dining, unique fare, or all of the above. It's one of those dining districts best explored by foot an hour or two before hunger hits. Wander up and down the Avenue, checking out each menu, sizing up each milieu, until you the ideal spot grabs you. In all honesty, you really can't go wrong with any Park Avenue pick. But not all of Winter Park's best dining locales have taken up residence on Park Avenue. In fact, one of Orlando's most celebrated restaurants, The Ravenous Pig, is a few miles away on Orange Avenue. This progressive American eatery, run by a creative husband/wife team, has outstanding food but zero pretentiousness. Another off Park Avenue option, Hillstone (formerly Houston's) blends mouthwatering steaks and ribs with its stellar lake views. Get there early and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail or glass of wine snuggled into on of their lakeside Adirondack chairs. Finally, for more steaks in a five star setting, Ruth's Chris as well as Fleming's Prime Steakhouse are both just a quarter mile down the road. If you're hungry and want a guaranteed dining experience, Winter Park is where it's at.
