While Winter Park most certainly has a reputation for high-end dining, there's no shortage of cheap eats as well, even on posh Park Avenue where most people expect to drop at least $100 on dinner. Frugal foodies will find a few hidden gems such as the Briar Patch. Best known for their breakfast fare, this eatery also offers excellent entrees around $10 like their blackened grouper sandwich or gorgonzola filet mignon sandwich. A little north west of Park Avenue, Tolla's Italian Restaurant features make-your-own pizzas starting at $6.95 and pastas entrees beginning at $8.75. While it's just a dash and dine lunch counter, the Black Bean Deli is loved by locals for its affordable Cuban fare like its platters packed with rice, beans and salad starting at just $6. PR's Taco Palace is a no frills Mexican joint with graffiti loaded walls and the faint smell of old beer, but the food is inexpensive and the portions are generous. Fiddler's Green Irish Pub and Eatery is a lively spot featuring well-priced Irish fare like fish and chips ($12.95) and bangers and mash ($12.95). For barbecue lovers, it doesn't get any better than Four Rivers Smokehouse. 4Rs has a line snaking out of quick eats locale every day of the week, for lunch and dinner. The food is nothing short of incredible and the critics agree, often naming it the best BBQ in town year after year. Finally, sushi lovers will find good value and quality at Fuji Sushi on Lee Road.
