With all of its opera and beer halls, Vienna may not seem like an ideal place to take the children but there are many kid-friendly things to do in and around the city. Urania Puppentheater is a "Punch and Judy" show in the Urania building, which also houses the observatory. Shows are suitable for children around 4 years old and up. Since you're on vacation, it's OK to relax the rules a little and there's no better place to do it than the Opern Confiserie, which is a showplace for Vienna's spectacular candies. The Planetarium of the City of Vienna is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, with a multitude of star-spangled shows: it features winter skies, holiday programs, shows specifically for children, fairy tales, constellations, sea and space, the universe, the environment and more. Vienna is an amazing city full of culture, history and music. But it's also full of attractions that kids will enjoy.
