Anytime you go to Cuba it's like you've thrown yourself into the 1960's, but as a resort town on a fine sliver of land extending into the sea, when one is at Varadero, they are there for one thing and one thing only: a vacation on the beach. Situated on a peninsula that is as narrow as some highways in LA are wide, Varadero is a place that is full of resorts and hotels aimed at catering to the person who came to relax in the sun and soak up the heat while the rest of the northern hemisphere is shrouded in blowing snow and running noses. Many of the hotels in Varadero constantly strive to out-do each other, so many already have the same tropical amenities you'd expect from the pool sporting, beach fronted resorts that you dream of in your vacations, so you will fail to be disappointed by your room and your view while you drink that mai tai and wonder why America embargoes such a place.
