Day 1 - Vancouver
On your first day in Vancouver, take it a little easy; the next few days are going to be action packed. The Hastings Park Racecourse will get your adrenaline going as you try to bet on your lucky horse. It's a great way to spend the afternoon, get a little excitement and perhaps make a buck or two. You may not have time to take advantage of one of the Alaskan cruises that leave Vancouver, but Harbour Cruises is a great alternative. Sail the night away on one of their yachts that are complete with music, food and alcohol. After you enjoyed the long cruise, make your way up to Granville Street for some good music and a night cap at the Morrissey Irish Bar & Restaurant. If you opted not to eat the buffet on your ride with Harbour Cruises, the Morrissey serves up tasty late night nosh. The Pacific Palisades Hotel is not far from all the action. It's centrally located and offers reasonable rates. It's known that many film people like to stay at the Pacific Palisades Hotel while they're in town shooting a movie. They offer a complimentary wine reception in the evening for guests to get acquainted and coffee and tea in the mornings, so make sure you take advantage of that!

Day 2 - Vancouver
Day two, and it's time to get that heart rate up a little bit. The Vancouver North Shore Day Trip with Caplilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain will keep you busy all day long. It's pretty neat that you can be Downtown Vancouver, up a mountain, see Grizzly Bears and walk across the world's longest suspension footbridge in 6 hours! That's what is so great about Vancouver; you are never far from nature and nature is never far from Vancouver. This tour is really the best way to see the best of the North Shore's outdoor excursions. While you're on the side of the city, you may as well treat yourself to a delicious French meal at La Regalade French Bistro in West Vancouver. The portions are large and the quality is unmatched. They have a lovely wine list an the service is impeccable too!

Day 3 - Vancouver
British Columbia is rich with wildlife, both on the land, in the air and water. Much of the First Nations art work is inspired by some of the greatest creatures in B.C.'s waters, Killer Whales. Seeing these whales up close is unlike any other experience you may have. It's just so incredible, words don't do justice. Remember how the kid in Free Willy felt? You will feel the same excitement when you see these beauties up close. These tours tend to last a few hours, so expect to dedicate an entire day to this activity. It's Friday night and while in Vancouver, you want to hit the town. Hamilton Street Grill is in Yaletown and serves reasonably priced items in a classic environment. This hearty meal will give you the energy you need to go dancing at Ginger Sixy Two. Kim Catrall has given Ginger praise over the years and with good reason; the music is hot and the crowd is full young professionals that like to get their groove on.

Day 4 - Vancouver
Day Four, let your feet hit the floor! You're going to sweat it all out on Grouse Mountain in the morning and get that adrenaline going. The Grouse Grind is pretty much like a Stairmaster on steroids. Make sure to wear proper footwear; heels aren't going to get you up to the top very fast. If you're not into challenging hikes, you may curse yourself for starting the Grind. Although it's a tough hike, the view from the top is very much worth it. Don't worry, they don't make you walk down - the Gondola ride is a sweet reward for your hard work. Now you're pretty pooped, but still raring to go. Head over to Stanley Park on your way back into Downtown Vancouver and spend a relaxing afternoon at the Stanley Park Pitch & Putt. It's not an 18 hole, award winning golf, but you're there to relax and it will fit the bill. After being on your feet all day long, The Cellar Restaurant & Jazz Club is a fantastic place to kick back and relax. The live jazz and tasty food will soothe your aching muscles.

Day 5 - Vancouver
So, you have spent most of your time on the North Shore and Downtown, how about you head an hour out of the city and go to Chilliwack. Whitewater rafting is calling your name and egging you on. If you are really into rafting, Hyak Wilderness Adventures offers 1, 2 and multi-day trips, so feel free to make this longer than a day long excursion! There are seven different rivers to choose from and they will make sure your skill level is catered to along the way. Driving through the Fraser Valley is a nice introduction to life outside of Vancouver. On your drive to Chilliwack, you will see some of British Columbia's vibrant farmland. If you're here in the summer season, make sure to stop by one of the farm stalls to pick up some fresh berries and produce. The blueberries are amazing! After a full day on the river, Subeez Cafe is a great spot to chill out. They showcase local artists artwork on the walls inside the restaurant. You can order from the full menu both in the dining area and in the bar. The salmon burger and sangria there are really good!

Day 6 - Vancouver
You have had an action packed trip full of exercise, excitement and entertainment; you need a little R&R before you head home from your vacation. Take a leisurely wander around Downtown Vancouver and browse through the many shops. So far, the trip has been so busy spending your daytime outside of the city, it's a nice way to end the trip and see Vancouver's downtown hub. After all the exercise you have done, those muscles will need a little love and a massage from Absolute Spa at the Century is a fantastic place to go. Absolute Spa is located on Burrard Street, which is perfect because you're detoxing dinner at The Naam is a bus ride away into Kitsilano. There are many bus stops along Burrard Street that will get you to The Naam. After your last day in Vancouver, you will feel relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated.
