Off Beaten Path Attractions in Vancouver

When you first come to Vancouver, you may have your sight set on the mountains, Seawall and beaches, but there are so many other fun things to do in the city that are either hidden gems, or off the beaten path.

The Police Museum is pretty much the most unique museum you may ever go to. Located in the city's old morgue, there are plenty of ghoulish tales that have crossed these walls. They also offer interesting forensic workshops that are a neat way to spend an evening.

Both walking tours are a great way to really see the city and be under the guidance of someone who knows the ins and outs of Vancouver's history. If anyone is going to know of secret spots, your guide on one of these tours will.

Now, Grouse may not seem off the beaten path, but the zip-lining is! When most people think of Grouse, they often think of skiing or doing the Grind, but there's a hidden zip-lining course that's up there and an exhilarating experience.

If you're here for Vancouver's great outdoors, a trip over to West Vancouver will get you to Lighthouse Park. It's a fabulous park that's filled with fairly easy trails and great spot to plonk down a picnic and enjoy the ocean that is stretched out in front of you.

Wreck Beach gets a mention here too because not only is it a bit of a trek to get to, but it's Vancouver's only beach where people are free to wear nothing but their birthday suit while they soak up the sun. Not for the faint of heart!

Don't be afraid to explore what's beyond the mountains and beaches, there are many activities that go beyond what you see on the surface.
