Gastown Restaurants in Vancouver
Gastown is a culinary hub and there's no shortage of wonderful places to grab a meal. This list of ten is by no means complete and there are plenty of other restaurants that are worth checking out in the area, such as Nicli, Judas Goat and Terracotta Modern Chinese, to name just a few.
L'Abattoir is at a higher price point than some, but it's definitely worth the splurge to go here. The food is outstanding, service is solid and their wines and cocktails compliment their seasonally changing menu. It's a fabulous date spot! Right next door to L'Abattoir is Cork & Fin and this restaurant specializes in seafood, something Gastown doesn't have too many of yet. Again, the price point is somewhat higher, but it's a charming night out if you're looking for a special meal that will impress your guest.
Alibi Room is a Gastown favorite amongst those that like a fun night with friends, complimented by delicious food and an extensive beer menu. There's never a dull night at the Alibi and the long communal tables are a great way to get to know your fellow dining comrades. It's a lively atmosphere that will leave a fun taste in your mouth.
Meat & Bread is the place to go if you're looking for a delicious lunch time sandwich. Just as the name suggests, they are your go-to guys for locally and ethically sourced meat. The amount of care the farmers put into their produce is made even better by the labour of love the Meat & Bread guys put into their sandwiches.
Chambar and Medina are technically in "Crosstown", but close enough to Gastown that we can put them into this category. These two establishments may just be two of the most successful ventures in all of Vancouver and when you go, you will know why.
