Tapas and small plates have made a huge statement in the food world as of late and it's not surprising because it allows dining companions to have a real foodie experience and enjoy different flavors, dishes and not get stuck ordering one thing. Eating small plates and tapas is such a social way of eating and if you were the kid that hated sharing, better give up that bad habit now and embrace sharing food, otherwise you're missing out on some of the best eating in town!
Bin 941 takes our number one spot because it's everything you could hope for in a tapas parlor, it's small, busy, the menu has an abundant amount of fresh and delicious items to order and the wine list is exactly what the doctor ordered. It's the perfect spot for a cozy date! Mis Trucos is only a short distance away from Bin 941 on Davie Street, so you could easily go on a tapas culinary journey to take advantage of both places.
Lolita's is also on Davie Street and though it's not specifically a tapas restaurant, there are plenty of items to share on the menu, starting with the exquisite ceviche, homemade guacamole and bean dip or some fish tacos. The atmosphere is one of a kind in Vancouver and you will feel as though you've been transported to a tiki bar, somewhere tropical.
Because Vancouver is so culturally diverse, small plates and tapas can be found in the form of izakayas, which are essentially Japanese small plates. Kingyo and Hapa Izakaya are fantastic places to go, order a few different dishes and allow your taste buds to explore a multitude of flavors.
