NileGuide Expert tip:
Try all of the salsas. You wont find these unique flavors in many places in Quintana Roo.
Description:
This place gets a variety of tourists and locals and is a fun place to sit outside, under a thatched roof. Just before entering Tulum (from Cancun), there is a Pemex gas station on the left side of the highway, and Urge Taquito is on the right side, just before a second Pemex gas station, also on the right-hand side of the highway.
This is a very casual restaurant with variety of rustic seating (including swings), and it has a tropical jungle feel.
The tacos are great and are prepared Baja-style (battered and fried, shrimp or fish) and are served as fast as you can eat them. The owner is from Northern Mexico (Querretaro to be exact) and is following his northern-style taco tradition. The salsa bar includes, chipotle, peanut, tamarind, mango, and garlic cream salsas, coleslaw, and a variety of other flavors. They also have chicken, arrachera (marinated beef), and torrito (cheese and fish stuffed peppers) tacos, for 24 pesos each, as well as fish burgers, fried fish, ceviches and seafood cocktails, but the highlight of this place are the fish and shrimp tacos.
Beverages include lemonade and beers for 25 pesos.
