Description:
The Fourth Avenue Shopping District is one of the most popular, highly-trafficked attractions in
Tucson. Located strategically between the
University of Arizona and Downtown, Fourth Avenue has a long and storied history as the city's bohemian thoroughfare, favorite college student hang-out, artist's destination, hipster magnet, and one of the best people-watching spots in the whole city. The Avenue encompasses dozens of boutiques, vintage shops, bars, galleries, cafes, restaurants, furniture stores, book stores, jewelry stores, a bike shop, and a natural foods co-op grocery store. Some of the most popular events in Tucson happen on Fourth Avenue, including the Fourth Avenue Street Fair, held twice annually in spring and winter. The Day of the Dead parade passes through here every autumn, and the busy avenue is also plays host to classic car shows, concerts, and cultural events. On the weekends, take the short ride on Tucson's classic trolley up the avenue.
