Roppongi's line-up of bars and nightclubs is the main reason to come here. It offers a surprisingly western take on night life, and foreigner-friendly establishments abound. This also means that it's the only place in Tokyo where you're likely to get hassled by club employees trying to get you into their place. But, Roppongi is an unmatched mecca for all-night festivities in a city that can hit the sack surprisingly early.
Chat up some of the many ex-pats who call Roppongi their nocturnal home, or hit one of the world-class nightclubs for extravagant partying. Either way, you'll be able to get by quite easily without any Japanese language ability, due to the high volume of foreigners in the area.
The nearby Roppongi Hills shopping and entertainment complex is a testament to decadence. Its line-up of gourmet restaurants, ritzy boutiques, penthouse apartments, an art museum, and a first-class movie theater center around the imposing 54-story Mori Tower.
