Description:
Thalang National Museum is a strange museum because it doesn't have a theme. Instead, it's a mix of old and new, artistic and unusual. One of the rooms of the museum is dedicated to the tsunami and features piles of objects recovered from the tragedy. The objects include cups, bags, personal items, even phones. It's a stark reminder of how many lives were destroyed. Aside from a brief history of Thailand, the museum also features a couple of exhibits dedicated to the 18th century heroines that helped defeat the Burmese, as well as mock-ups of homes from centuries past.
