Laughing Horse Inn B&B
NileGuide Expert Says:
A quirky spot in Taos, perfect for overnighting before or after a ski day. The rooms are tucked into a sloping roof, and many of the beds are accessed via ladder. Some have shared baths. There's a huge video library and one of the best continental breakfasts in Taos. Plus, they take pets.

Description:
Come relax and mellow out within the walls of our one of a kind accommodations. Our Inn was built in 1887 comprised of 19th century Spanish adobe architecture. In the early 70's hippie carpenters crafted an earthship prototype wing to adjoin the original house! We are located on the northern edge of town on the Rio Pueblo, a sacred river to the Taos Pueblo Indians. The famous Plaza is a short stroll away! There's hardly a straight line, and few square corners in the whole house - it's difficult to do in a place with two-foot-thick adobe walls!
The Laughing Horse Inn is a unique part of the Taos scene. Purchased by 'Spud' Johnson in the late 1920's, it has been an important retreat and gathering place for many artistic & literary people over the years.
Our nine eclectic rooms share two bathrooms, as you experienced travelers have no doubt encountered in European pensiones. We also have a penthouse suite with a private bath which is perched atop the original hacienda.
Breakfast changes daily but may include: Breakfast burritos w/ roasted tomato salsa, green chili quiche', blueberry muffins, assorted fruits, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea.
