Directly across from the Xin Beitou ("New" Beitou) MRT station sits a long park filled with fountains, a hot springs, the Beitou library and the Hot Springs Museum. If you're at all familiar with the Taipei movie scene, you may recognize the park from the film "Turn Left, Turn Right" starring Takeshi Kaneshiro and Gigi Leung.The public hot springs located in the park offers European style bathing (i.e. swimsuits on) in the bubbling sulfurous waters. Rent a locker for your things or, if you plan to spend some time in the area, check out the nearby hotels, many of which contain private hot springs.
If you have the time or simply need a few minutes to de-prune, the Hot Springs Museum gives you a nice overview of the area and the history of the springs.
