Hao Ji is a friendly little local joint serving up some of Taiwan's most famous snacks in the comfort of a little air conditioned restaurant. While on the touristy side, the food is inexpensive and decent, and the atmosphere is fun and friendly. If you're concerned about braving the street food scene but still want the local eating experience, you could definitely do worse. Peddler's noodles are the house specialty, a soupy noodle dish made with pork broth and fried shrimp.
