Taipei isn't known as a city of love, but that doesn't mean you can't find romantic things to do in the capital of Taiwan. Whether you're on a first date or celebrating years of marriage, get the sparks flying with one of these romantic activities in the big city.
Our first pic, the Taipei 101 Observatory, offers the hands-down best views in the city. With the deck and observation floors open until 10pm daily, you and your sweetie can enjoy the sunset before watching the city light up. If heights aren't your cup of tea, head over to Elephant Mountain in the early evening. Pack a picnic dinner to munch on as you watch the sun set behind the world's second tallest building.
To really steam things up...literally...treat your special someone to a day at Peitou Hot Springs Park or one of the nearby spas. Hot tubs, saunas, and massage await. Once you've finished, try out one of our less obvious picks: Jodie's Kitchen. Learn to prepare local Taiwanese fare so you can recreate your romantic romp in Taipei long after you've left. You can take private lessons with just the two of you and sign up for a guided hike up to Elephant Mountain after you've enjoyed your culinary creations.
If adventure is what gets your blood boiling, head out of the city for a whole range of activities, from kayaking to mountain biking, in some of Taiwan's most stunning scenery.
