The Swedes love to have a good time and Stockholm shows it, with an impressive variety of fun things to do for locals and visitors alike. Hellasgarden is a park not far from central Stockholm where you can stroll the different paths that run along the marsh and the lakes or make your way through a leafy birch forest and over open fields. Skansen was the first open-air museum to open in the world - back in 1891 - and it's still going strong. If you're visiting Stockholm in the summer, don't miss Tivoli Grona Lund. Junibacken is a favorite haunt of the young and young at heart where you can meet Pippi Longstocking, Madicken or Emil in Lonneberga, or take the fairytale train around the most beloved scenes from Astrid Lindgren's books. The entrance to the Aquaria Vattenmuseum is under a cascade of water and inside there is an artificial jungle with showers, piranhas and mudskippers. In summer and winter, indoors and out, you'll find plenty of fun things to do to fill your days in Stockholm.
