Russians are famously fond of children and, not surprisingly, St. Petersburg is outfitted with a wide range of kid-friendly things to do. Founded in 1832, the Zoologicheskii Muzei is one of the largest museums of natural history in the world and features an amazing array of stuffed animals (the real kind). The Sankt-Peterburgskii Zoopark covers an expanse of 7.5 hectares and is home to nearly 2,000 animals from 410 species. Krestovsky Ostrov is one of St. Petersburg's most prestigious neighborhoods, an island that's home to a growing number of urban-beach restaurants as well as a park that's a very popular destination for recreational activities like cycling, rollerblading and jogging. So spoil the youngsters Russian-style and take them to enjoy as many of St. Petersburg's kid-friendly activities as they (or you) can stand.
