St. Thoma* is a jewel because it is the center of so much activity. The island ha* white sandy beaches, a variety of restaurants ranging from local to chic and the best duty-free shopping in the Caribbean. Most visitors enjoy several exciting day-trips. St.John, a short ferry ride away, is known for having some of the most pristine beaches in the Caribbean. A ten minute ferry ride will bring you to the fourth Virgin Island, Water Island. Don't be surprised when one of its five hundred inhabitants drive by in a golf car on their way to Honeymoon Beach! The British Virgin Islands are also within your reach and offer plenty of beaches, snorkeling and quite a few beach bars to rest your hat.
