Description:
Fort Siloso helps brings Singapore's war story to life. The Fort played an important role in defending Singapore in the 1880s and also endured heavy bombing by Japanese aircraft and was used as a Prisoners of War camp during the Japanese Occupation of World War II.
The visitor attraction is divided into three zones: The Yellow Zone guides you through the steps of a new recruit to Fort Siloso in the 1880s, as you are introduced to the various barrack rooms, ammunition stores, battery command post and witness the firing of the 7 inch gun. The Red Zone relives the World War II years, outlining the Fall of Singapore and the experiences of the Prisoners of War and local residents during the Japanese Occupation, and the Blue Zone features a tunnel complex leading to the 12 Pounder Quick Firing Gun and Fire Direction Tower on the western tip of Sentosa Island.
