Turin's Alps
Description:
If you are looking to ski or skate, relax or party then the Alps of Alta Val Susa should be your destination. This fantastic tourist area offers great facilities in the six resorts which hosted the 2006 Winter Olympics. Whether for singles, families, groups or sports enthusiasts these resorts cover all the bases.
The Olympics brought a number of major new amenities, including slopes and ski lifts, to a skiing area comprising of six resorts, Bardonecchia, Cesana-Sansicario, Claviere, Pragelato, Sauze d'Oulx and Sestriere.
Today you will find over 1500 kilometres of ski runs and trails, which are set in a perfect location offering outstanding mountain scenery in a wonderful natural landscape. The combination of runs for beginners, extremely long off-trail routes through fresh snow and the chance to try night skiing on illuminated slopes makes this the complete resort area.
Getting there is simple. Turin Airport is close by and from there are minibus and coach services to the Val de Susa via the Autostrada (motorway) which links Turin to the resorts.
