Known for its excellent water views, The Hyatt recently has undergone $22 million in renovations, including new carpets, 32 inch flat screen TVs, luxurious linens on the bed with other improvements to its 294 guest rooms. The good news, rates also are a bit more modest than at its high end competitor. Recent guests report the four star Hyatt Regency service remains superlative, as could be expected. Stroll from the lobby down to the theater, enjoy the pool with its waterfall, ride the complimentary shuttle to the beach, or spend a morning shopping at St. Armand's Circle. If you arrive by water, call ahead and dock your yacht in the hotel's 32 slip marina, which can accommodate 55 foot yachts. You may want to wander through the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens with their magnificent collection of orchids. Or visit the Concierge desk to arrange for 18 holes of golf, to spend a day fishing in the Gulf or to stretch your legs on a rental bicycle.
