Description:
New Zealand-themed Kia Ora is Sampa's premier live rock bar. The cover charges can be substantial (Rs. 60 for men and Rs. 30 for women on weekends). The drink prices too. But the atmosphere at this kiwi pub is tough to top, with a friendly and hip clientele. The city's best cover bands belt out tunes for the crowd to dance and singalong, in English and occasionally Portuguese. The bar serves up some of the best imported brews in the city, from Old Speckled Hen and New Castle to Guinness and Coopers. The menu is a collection of pub specialties, from burgers and calamari to nachos and fried yucca. Kia Ora also puts on one of the best happy hours in São Paulo from Tuesday-Thursday (6 - 8 pm) and Friday (7 - 8 pm), with 50% off entrance fees and various drink specials.
