Fuente Mardoqueo os one of a afew sandwich shops that outdoes itsself on traditional favorites like the chacarero, fajita-style beef strips on a bun with juicy tomatoes and a pile of stringbeans, or the barros jarpa (ham and melted cheese), or any sandwich you can invent with the ingredients they have on hand, which range from tuna to pickles to girlled beef, and avocado.

There are twelve dressings or sauces to choose from, which you can apply to your sandwich yourself, under their kithcy collection of antique teacups, sewing machines and clocks. You'll be one of many if you come for lunch or after work, but during the afternoon it is much less crowded.

A small sandwich is gigantic, and a large is extreme, so tread with caution and bring a healthy appetite.
