Description:
This small, family-run restaurant in Barrio Lastarria/Bellas Artes will make you forget which contienent you're on, if only for the duration of your meal. The name is taken from that of a amous French restaurant called Aux Assassin, and the owner, Carlos, waits the tables along with his son, making sure you understand exactly what you've ordered, and that you get it, prepared exactly as you like.
The shining star of the menu is the beef served wtih roquefort sauce, the prefect blances of textures and flavors (order the meat as you like it served, though traditionally this should be rare). Those who prefer seafood can't go wrong with teh savorty crepes with seafood, also served in a creamy sauce.
The restaruant is small, decorated tastefully, with interesting architectural details, though the decorations are all from the 70s or before, and it shows. The restauant fills to the gills by 9 PM most nights. Call for a reservation if you're planning on arriving later, and though it will be difficult, save room for dessert, becaause the glazed chestnuts are out of this world.
