Cozy Plaza Victoria cafe will have you thinking you're somewhere other than Santiago. The clink of the plates, the tapping of the frothed milk pitcher against the counter, it all sounds much more like a cafe in Italy or San Francisco, than the slow pace of many of the cafes in Santiago.The cafe is located just steps from the Santa Isabel metro on the green line and is widely considered to be one of the best cafes in Santiago. They don't serve cortados, know what an Americano is (and know how to prepare one), and serve a menu that appeals to both Chilean and foreign tastes, with classics like a mechada (kind of meat sandwich) as well as a sauteed shrimp sandwich with avocado and arugula. Italian paninis round out the menu with a variety on offer including a couple of vegetarian and fish-based ones in additiona to the typical Italian fare.
