Visitors to Santiago tend to stick to the same thre neighborhoods and tourist sights. It's not their fault. If you read the average guide book, it seems like you could come in and make a surgical strike, seeing all the "must-sees" in a short amount of time. But if you really want to get beyond the easily-accessible, tourist board Santiago, come and check out a few of the more unusual things to do below. It's not that you can't or shouldn't see the big name items, the poets house and museums that make big newspapers. It's just that if you want to discover a more unusual side of Santiago and surrounds, checking out a few of these places below will give you a leg up on your fellow travelers. On the list below you'll find museums that aren't in any guidebook, information on how to go where the locals eat their Saturday fish special, a few off-the-beatenpath and unusual wineries offering some unique ways to visit, a bike tour, a great place to hike, horseracing and a great place to go antiquing.
