The Plaza de Armas serves as the central plaza of Santiago, and is well-located on the green line metro, and easily accessible from the red line as well. In addition to the several attractions it contains, it is just a short walk away from several others, including museums, places to eat and many pedestrian boulevards where the people watching can't be beat. Its central location makes a great starting point for meanders around the city, and in fact, the giant horse statue at the northeast corner is used by travelers and locals alike as a meeting point.
