Bellavista is Santiago's most bohemian and nightlife-hopping neighborhood, fairly bursting with restaurants, shopping opportunities, and has good access to Cerro San Cristobal, a museum, and a great bike tour. It's also where the largest concentration of stores selling lapiz lazuli can be found. It's got easy access from the red and green line metros, and has several good hostel and hotel options, including a very stylish boutique hotel that has everyone in Santiago talking. And don't miss Bellavista's shining locals-and-foreigners alike tourist spot, Patio Bellavista, with shopping outdoor cafés, nice restaurants, an open-air plaza and even live music.
