Fun things to do in Santiago abound. If it's not going out dancing until (almost) dawn, it's riding the rodelbahn up in La Reina, swinging through the trees on a zipline at a winery, going paddleboating, walks up the two hills that overlook the city, skiing just an hour outside the city, skateparks and playground for the kids (or the kids in all of us) and exhibitions and street performers to watch. An indoor climbing wall or two is perfect for rainy days, and there's tons of people watching wherever you go. Shopping is another activity, from finding secret surprise treasures at the flea market, to selecting the perfect gift among the handicrafts at one of the nation's top handicraft markets where you can talk to the artisans as they work.
