Club Amanda is, strangely, located in a former multiplex, with it's high ceilings and grand staircase. It's ensconced in what functions by day as an outdoor shopping arcade, and by night is all cordoned off so the young elite can head into this trendy Vitacura nightclub. It's in a bit of a no-man's land, and will require either a bus or taxi way up Vitacura to rub shoulders with the pretty, late 20s to 30s guests. The DJ is on a rotating schedule with 80s pop figuring broadly (as it does in much of Chile), while modern pop and the occasional specialty night with bossa nova (a Brazilian genre of which the best known example is "The Girl From Ipanema.") or other esoteric music. As at most discos in Santiago, nothing gets hopping here until at least midnight. Unlike at some other discos, the dress seems to be at most casual business casual, and Club Amanda is a bit fashion-forward.
