Phoenix is located on the west end of Mission Street, a low traffic area of town that most visitors don't bother heading towards. Phoenix might just change that trend. Fresh ingredients, little grease, and flavors more complex that "sweet and sour" are turning Phoenix into the Asian restaurant for the discerning diner. Their Vietnamese spring rolls are a welcome relief from pot stickers (though those are tasty too) and dishes like Hunan Scallops, Shrimp with Broccoli, and Kung Pao Chicken are served with big vegetables that have actually retained their shape. The service is friendly and unobtrusive. While not a lively atmosphere, you won't have to wait long for your much anticipated meal.
