City Hall is located in the northern side of Plaza de Armas in Old San Juan. The attractive building was made to resemble the city hall in Madrid with two iconic towers facing the plaza. The construction began in 1605 and was finished in 1789. The City Hall or Alcaldía, is one of the many historic structures found in the walled city of Old San Juan. The building is famous for its exquisite staircase that takes you to the mayor's office.
